Sudoku puzzles – number craze in 9 digits

The modern form of Sudoku, which began in the United States in the late 1970s, first took off in Japan — where the word Sudoku means “number placement” — and in the following decades it spread all over the world. In many countries, including the United Kingdom, almost every newspaper and magazine features a Sudoku puzzle. That has led to a host of different Sudoku magazines, to puzzle solvers’ delight. Az eredeti Sudoku, from Budapest Magazines, is the first of its kind in Hungary.

You don’t need advanced maths to solve these puzzles. You need logic and a little time to get every number in the right place. The game is absorbing: simple, yet it rewards patience and steady thinking. Be warned — it can be addictive! Our magazines offer puzzles at several difficulty levels, so with a little practice everyone can find a challenge that fits.

If you are stuck at first, the solutions at the end of the magazine can help you along.

Good luck!
